I am so happy I stumbled upon this local glass and mirror shop in Evanston. Initially I came in for a new mirror and now they are working on my new shower door. It's so nice to be able to work with friendly and trustworthy sales people. I highly recommend Evanston Glass & Mirror!
Replaced a complicated piece of wired glass pane in a 50 year old steel door. Super difficult job. Pleasant workers. Efren and Ernesto. Skilled at their work. Fairly priced. Will try to use them again on my next complicated window and I have a few.
Dropped off a glass shelf for my shower to be duplicated and 10 days after having the shelf at their store I decided to call and get an update on the progress. When I dropped it off, the two guys working behind the counter barely stopped their conversation with each other to find out what I needed, so I was a bit concerned at this point. I asked them if they kept records of past jobs they had done since I had them make this exact shelf about a year prior. They said no they didn’t keep records of past orders. I asked how long it would take and they said give them a week to 10 days. So that’s what I did. Today when I talked to Jim at the store he said to give him til Wednesday April 14, and the shelf would be done. About an hour later Jim calls back and says that the shelf is going to need special glass and cuts and that they would need to send it out somewhere to have done. I asked why this wasn’t done when I dropped it off and he said “we’re busy and we do things first in first out”. He couldn’t tell me why no one had even looked at this job prior to my phone call. Needless to say I’ll be picking up my original shelf and bring it to a more reputable company like Ashland Glass at 3926 North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, or Chicago Glass & Mirror at 3956 N Elston Ave Chicago, IL 60618. I called both these stores and they said they could get it back to me within the week. Evanston Glass and Mirror has been around for many years. It’s a shame they let their customer service become so awful.
Replaced broken double pane window in bedroom. Office was responsive and technician (Efrem) was ontime, knowledgeable and professional. We highly recommend this service.
